"In the end, as First Lady, this isn’t just a policy issue for me. This is a passion.
This is my mission. I am determined to work with folks across this country to change the way a generation of kids thinks about food and nutrition"
- First Lady Michelle Obama
Local partnerships are important to school systems. One main function of Lawrence e Country CSH is to provide partnership opportunities to students, parents, and local education agencies to assist students with successful transitions through school, and from school to further education, training, employment and active participation in the community. Partnerships also enable children to make healthier decision in nutrition, physical activity, and family planning.
"The health and well-being of our nation’s young people is not a matter of luck. It is not a chance or random event. It must be a planned outcome. The case for well-designed, well-resourced, and sustained health education in the nation’s schools is compelling(1)".
